NERMEIN EL RAWI is a Native Egyptian artist, translator, singer, and songwriter preserving the cultural music of Egypt, Nubia, the Middle East, and North Africa.

 

Nermein's repertoire and life-long career as a vocalist spans classical Arabic compositions, modern Middle Eastern rhythms, tribal traditions of the Nile, and devotional music at the intersection of song and spirituality.

 

With unmatched tonal clarity and raw emotion, her music evokes the human condition: she sings of love, of loss, and of life.

 

She is presently in collaboration with her daughter, the international poet and electronic music artist DRĖĖĖMY, to create a trans-generational, multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary music project amplifying ancestral perspectives through sound and storytelling: MOTHER & WATER.
